On May 9, the newly appointed board of NCN had its first official meeting. A key item on the agenda was the planning of the upcoming Lab in Linköping this October, along with the joint analysis of contemporary Nordic urban development.
The NCN Secretariat, together with the local planning group in Linköping, is currently finalizing the program for the three-day event. The first day will center on a shared exploration of emerging trends in Nordic urbanism, with both new and long-standing members and stakeholders invited to participate. Days two and three will follow the traditional NCN Lab format, focusing on in-depth discussions among network members.
This year’s Lab theme is “Creating a Cohesive City – Physically and Socially.” Linköping presents a compelling case study, as the city seeks input on how to strengthen connections between different urban areas in light of a planned rerouting of the railway through the city.
We are aiming for strong political engagement in the lab, and a special invitation has been sent to the network’s political representatives via our local contacts. Registration for the lab will open in mid-June, coinciding with the release of the preliminary program.
