Countdown to the Jubilee Lab: key note Maria Klint

The conference brings together urban actors from across the Nordic region to explore and discuss the challenges and opportunities of contemporary and future urban development. How can Nordic cities navigate complexity and drive sustainable transformation?

What do you see as the most important issue Nordic cities need to succeed with in future urban development?
– Low relational capacity, inability to collaborate across departments and organisations, complexity overload, and being stuck in outdated systems.

What will your talk at the Lab focus on?
– I’ll focus on how we can create the conditions for sustainable urban transformation by designing new systems and fostering collaboration. Drawing on examples from projects like NetZeroCities and Viable Cities, I’ll explore how portfolio thinking and system demonstrators can help Nordic cities navigate complexity and enable change.
