Insights from Anne Juel Andersen
Everything relates to our role as planners, naturally in close collaboration with the politicians. The planners’ role in preparing us for an unknown future will involve some repetition, and these are focus areas that build on top of the professional issues we must continue to concentrate on, including mobility, architecture, climate adaptation, etc. It could be something along the lines of:
- We need to work with long-term goals
- We need to get better at measuring what we want more of (meaningful indicators)
- Citizen involvement / stakeholder engagement in new formats that concern the interplay of projects and initiatives rather than single projects, with a focus on where we want to go and what it will take
- Promote integrated solutions, e.g., between infrastructure / culture / climate adaptation / public spaces
- Focus on creating opportunities / conditions for things to happen within the bigger puzzle (as part of process facilitation)
