“For us as politicians, democratic processes are extremely important. However, the challenge lies in managing the fact that these processes easily become very lengthy, while the world around us is changing faster—and with it, the conditions. Finding what is sustainable in the long term and being able to deliver something that stands the test of time becomes a real challenge.
One concrete takeaway for me is to make the most of the unique characteristics of a place in planning and to let differences contribute to planning rather than smoothing out and standardizing. In addition—stand firm on the principle that everyone has an equal right to quality in their neighborhoods.”
