Summer is here and we’re coming to the end of this spring’s series of Nordic City Network morning meetings. This spring, we have dug into the topic of “Vibrant Cities – how to develop attractive and sustainable urban environments?” and discussed it in relation to the city centre, the city-wide scale and the regional scale and through the lenses of research, planning and policy perspectives.
A wide span of topics has been unfolded, spanning from data tools for climate adaptation, retail, child-friendly cities, food systems, joint regional plans across municipality borders – showing the complexity and diversity of the topic of urban development.
The opportunity for knowledge sharing and learning from each other on complex themes and topics is key for the network’s work to create sustainable and innovative Nordic cities. The morning meeting format enables us to connect across the borders around burning topics and to voice different perspectives.
We would like to place a special thanks to everyone who this year has contributed with inspirational presentations and rich knowledge. Thanks also to everyone who has showed up and spread the meeting invitation. Having had 70-80 people in the room for each session, of different professional backgrounds and countries, is truly a good start for more vibrancy in Nordic cities!
